The PostCity only operated as a mail distribution center for twenty-four years and is scheduled to be demolished in 2024. In the meantime, 5.45 hectares of peripheral grassland are to be used for the construction of the Institute of Digital Sciences Austria (IDSA). Both projects contradict the goals of the state of Upper Austria and the city of Linz with regard to climate and environmental protection as well as land use. In the postUNI design project, three architecture students from the University of Art and Design Linz show how the existing buildings in the area could be repurposed using adaptive reuse methods.

During an entire semester, the students examined the existing buildings in detail and worked on the conception of an educational campus as an alternative possibility of use. The planning documents and models they create illustrate how renovation work and new visions can help to revitalize the buildings and unlock new potential.
